As French authorities go about picking the next person to be honoured with burial in the Pantheon mausoleum in Paris, feminists groups ‘Osez le Feminisme’ and ‘La Barbe’ have protested against the fact that out of more than 70 luminaries interred in the famous monument, only two in fact are women. An online campaign and petition is seeking to convince French President François Hollande to redress the imbalance. To help him out the groups have proposed the names of five leading figures from French history, they believe have earned the right to have their remains interred in the Pantheon.
