France-based readers of The Local have written in to complain about being hit with steep duty fees on packages sent from abroad.
Ever since Brexit, duty fees have applied on packages sent between the UK and France, while readers of other nationalities have also reported being slapped with unexpectedly heavy duty fees.
We want to hear from you.
There are all the other stupid rules caused by Brexit – such as not being able to send milk chocolate (that has been manufactured in France or elsewhere in the EU) from the UK to a friend in France !!!
What’s so unexpected? The duty to be paid is clearly written in the many leaflets that are available. It’s no different to sending and receiving parcels from any other non-EU country. Perhaps some of these whingers should have experienced what it was like sending goods between counties before the EEC/EU. Now that really was something to moan about.🙄
