American living in France without mental health support

Ad type: Other
Location:
Date added: 07 Feb 2019

I'm married to a French citizen but am very limited in my communication skills. History of T.B.I. and cognitive disorder along with severe damage to vertebrae in my lower back.

I'm on disability from the U.S. prior to coming to live with my wife. My luck with psychiatrist and psycho-therapy that is covered by our family insurance has been very limited and disappointing.

I believe my quality of life could be improved drastically with a trusted psychiatrist, counselling and a support group. But finding these things in the Eu area of Baie de Somme has proven difficult. Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you
Jeff

Hello, Have you tried calling SOS Help? They probably have good resources for what you are looking for in your area. Sorry, I don't have their number on me but it's easy enough to find.
Best of luck

Try posting on Living France Forum - they are a really helpful, stirling bunch of English-speaking people who are registered. Mostly give you the information for which you are looking, or else try pointing you in the right direction. Unfortunately we are in the Haute Savoie and cannot help much.
