Making your CV or resume standout can be tricky in France these days with so many people looking for work.
Job hunters are often forced try to do something different, whether it’s a touch of colour or even make it in the form of a video, but one unemployed Frenchman wanted to do better than that.
Laurent Lebret, 41, who has been out of work for six months plastered his on a huge billboard at the entrance to the French Riviera town of Antibes, near where he lives.
Lebret's CV was placed on a four metre by three metre billboard in December. It featured an image of him, sporting a huge grin, smartly dressed in a suit, wearing a Christmas hat.
Next to his picture were the words: “For Christmas, I just want a job”.
Lebret also used the advert to tell potential employers he was trilingual and was looking for work as an operations manager in the areas of tourism and leisure or in the hotel and restaurant industry.
After being inundated with calls and messages, Lebret's Christmas wish came true when he was offered a position as an operations manager for the holiday resort firm, Azureva in the nearby town of Bourg-en-Bresse.
