Even for Parisians Paris is a pricey city but for students, especially those who come from abroad, the cost of accomodation, supermarket food and a night out can leave you crying into your €10 pint. However, do not panic. Living in Paris on the budget of an international student is indeed possible. But you'll need a few tips, from where to go, to what help you can get from the state, to what to drink, in order to give you a head start. So without further ado, here's our Top Tips for surviving on a student budget in Paris.
Going out: Knowing where to go is the best way to ensure a cheap night out. Student hotspots like Place Monge in the 5th, Parmentier in the 11th and Rue de Lappe near Bastille have plenty of bars offering decent happy hour deals, and free concerts. Event organisation Erasmus Paris also host parties every Thursday night at Mix Club, offering free entry before 12am. For live music pick up a copy of free listings magazine Lylo.
