Here's a look at some of the most popular;
I Will Survive
You might think this song is for karaoke or a girls' night out, but it's also closely associated with French football.
While the original disco classic was recorded by Gloria Gaynor in 1978, the version that became synonymous with France's 1998 World Cup triumph was the adaptation by the Hermes House Band. Its infectious " la, la-la, la, la" refrain turned the song into an instant favourite among both players and supporters.
Years later, it remains the unofficial anthem of France's first World Cup triumph and is still heard among fans.
Tous Ensemble
In 2002, French rock legend Johnny Hallyday recorded Tous Ensemble (all together) as the official anthem for France's World Cup title defence.
The song topped the French charts and became one of the most recognisable football songs of the early 2000s. Although France's tournament ended in bitter disappointment (which we do not talk about), Tous Ensemble has survived as a favourite among supporters.
Magic in the Air
If I Will Survive belongs to the Zidane era, then Magic in the Air belongs to the generation of Kylian Mbappé.
Released in 2014 by Magic System, the song became a staple at football stadiums across France. Its popularity reached another level during the 2018 World Cup, when it was played repeatedly throughout France's victorious campaign and during the team's celebrations after winning the trophy.
Ramenez la coupe à la maison
No song captured the joy of France's second World Cup victory quite like Ramenez la coupe à la maison" (Bring the trophy home).
Released by French rapper Vegedream shortly after the 2018 triumph in Russia, the track quickly became a national phenomenon. The song references the 23 members of the French team and was sung by players during post-tournament celebrations. The players even sang it in the gardens of the Elysée Palace.
Years later this song is still very much hear in stadiums and played in bars.
Freed From Desire
The next addition to the French football playlist came during the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Originally released in 1996 by Italian singer Gala, Freed From Desire found new life as a hugely popular anthem for multiple sports across many different countries (perhaps due to its chorus of na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na being easily accessible to speakers of all languages).
France's players and supporters embraced the song during the matches in 2022, and it quickly became associated with the team's celebrations.
Trophée
The final release on the list is this year's official France anthem - Trophée, released in June 2026 by M. Pokora and rap group L2B.
Will it become as iconic as all the ones mentioned above? To be seen...
And a few fan chants . . .
Away from the official releases are the chants that French fans will treat you to.
Qui ne saute pas n'est pas Français!
Perhaps the most recognisable chant among French supporters, qui ne saute pas n'est pas Français ("Whoever isn't jumping isn't French") is accompanied by thousands of fans jumping in unison.
It's also been adapted to different cities across the country, you might hear qui ne saute pas n'est pas Lyonnais (whoever isn't jumping isn't from Lyon) for example - especially during home games.
Wait until about 30 seconds in to this video to hear it in all its glory . . .
Aux armes!
Another famously sung chant is: Aux armes!, literally translating to "get your weapons" or "gear up".
Supporters begin by singing "Aux armes!" and the crowd responds "Nous sommes les Français!" (we are French). Think of it as a battle call which would indicate that soldiers should pick up their weapons ready to fight.
Allez les Bleus!
Allez les Bleus is probably the most famous chant, which literally means "Go the Blues".
It's short, simple and instantly recognisable, it has accompanied every generation of the French national team. Whenever a things are heating up on the French team or they are about to score, supporters regularly unite behind this chant, which has a tune like this . . .

And La Marseillaise
Of course we have to finish with a mention France's national anthem.
The country has one of the world's best national anthems for sporting purposes, it's got a really rousing tune and suitably combative lyrics.
As such it's often belted out by fans at key moments during a match, in addition to the formal pre-match anthems. In fact, we would go so far as to say that you've never really heard La Marseille until you've heard it bellowed by roughly 80,000 sports fans
