In order not to complely scew up my family holiday to the UK, I opted for an ETD (emergency travel Document). On top of the fee for that, I had to travel a total of 12 hours to get to the British Embassy in Stockholm to post ck it up in person only. Plus the travel cost to get there and back. And after all that, at the airport they told me to use my Swedish passport, which I did with no questions, both to and from the UK. Absolutely enfuriating and a ridiculous level of incopetance that I've now come to expect from the UK Government.

Consider yourself lucky you even have a second passport especially after Brexit. Stop whining.

I have 3 "foreign" granddaughters - 2 Japanese, & 1 Italian; They do not yet have British passports. In theory I agree they should have them (although Japan doesn't allow dual nationality). But in practise problems can happen when sending documents to & from the Uk. The last time I renewed my British passport, DHL managed to lose it- they said it had been received & signed for - but not by me! Luckily it was mysteriously "found" after a few days following hours of phone calls.

Re Jack (the real Jack) It's even cheaper as I thought UK passports lasted 10 years! Depends what you mean anti globalisation, if you mean the world being undemocratically run by an evil globalist elite e.g Schwaab, Blair, WEF, WHO, Agenda 2030 Trump (USA) Farage (UK) Putin? then a world run by psychos I guess I'm anti globalist, if you mean a collective of independent nations democratically working together for all of mankind like the UN was supposed to be then I agree with you 🙂

I don’t understand why people are upset about having to document their nationality and travel on a UK Passport. It’s common sense to have your paperwork up to date, especially in post-Brexit times. The passport is a simple token of citizenship. This is just how travel works.
