The regional airport of Bergerac-Périgord, which serves south-west France, on Tuesday unveiled its summer 2026 flight schedule, which includes six Ryanair routes.
The budget airline announced in July that it was reducing its capacity in France by 13 percent, ending flights to and from three airports; Bergerac and Brive in the south-west of France and Strasbourg in the east, blaming an increase in France's eco tax.
A statement from the company said: "This astronomical tax makes France less attractive than other countries in the EU such as Ireland, Spain or Poland, which impose no such taxes."
However, it appears that their statement concerned only winter routes, and it will be once again flying to and from Bergerac in the summer.
The airport's summer schedule includes the following Ryanair flights;
- London-Stansted – 8 weekly flights
- Liverpool – 2 weekly flights
- East Midlands – 3 weekly flights
- Bristol – 3 weekly flights
- Bournemouth – 2 weekly flights
- Edinburgh – 2 weekly flights
British Airways, Transavia and Jet2 will also continue serving Bergerac-Perigord this summer - a popular gateway to south-west France including Dordogne.
Making the announcement on Tuesday, the airport and Bergerac town said in a statement: "This new schedule is a continuation of the 2025 summer season, with an international offering structured around the airport's historic and most dynamic markets.
"This programme will also be implemented with Ryanair, which will have a strong presence at the airport in 2026.
"In line with its development strategy, the airport is consolidating its most successful routes, particularly to the United Kingdom and the Netherlands, in order to meet sustained demand and enhance the region's tourist and economic appeal.
"The UK remains Bergerac Airport's leading international market, with a dense and diverse offering operated by several major airlines."
