The Talking France podcast is back with all the latest news from France, from verdict on Marine Le Pen and what it means for French politics to why people are arguing about the size of beer glasses and the best French dishes, according to the French.

Host Ben McPartland is joined by The Local France's Emma Pearson, Genevieve Mansfield and John Lichfield to look at all the latest news and talking points from France.

Earlier this week French far right leader Marine Le Pen was found guilty of embezzlement and banned from running for political office for the next five years, meaning she would not be able to run for president in 2027.

We start off this episode with a recap of the case, plus what the future could hold for both the French political landscape and Marine Le Pen herself.

We also discuss the latest row between the US and France, after the United States Embassy sent out a letter urging that French partner companies certify they do not practice DEI (diversity, equity and inclusion).

The team gets into why this did not land well in France, and whether the country even uses American style DEI schemes.

Away from domestic and international politics, there's another disagreement brewing. This one has to do with the size of beer glasses in France, but the conflict is anything but 'pint-sized'.

And finally, the Talking France team reveals the best French dishes - according to the French themselves - and which French regions you should visit for the tastiest food.
