French Foreign Legion releases lockdown workout video
The French Foreign Legion are world renowned for their toughness and brutal training - but now you can train like a legionnaire from your own home.
As people in France are ordered to restez chez vous (stay home) during the coronavirus lockdown, there has been an upsurge of interest in fitness routines that can be done indoors.
And now one of the French Foreign Legion's fitness instructors - Major Gérald - has produced videos for sport en espace confiné (sport in a confined space).

The Legion regularly publishes fitness routines from its famously brutal training, but Major Gérald has now created two workouts - a general and a cardio - that are designed to be performed in confined spaces.
They also use only everyday household objects as props, including water bottles, a tennis ball and a kitchen stool.
The 10-minute videos are available on YouTube with a recommendation that people do them two or three times a week.
If you think you're not quite ready for training Foreign Legion style, Paris City Hall is also producing workout videos with sports teacher Linda which are specially designed for those trying to keep fit in very small apartments.
