The storm has already caused three deaths in Spain and in France has brought disruption to the south coast.
There was localised flooding in the coastal town of Argeles-sur-Mer in southern France
High winds have struck along the south west coast and huge waves – some up to five metres high – have lead to some towns in the Pyrénées-Orientales département, close to the Spanish border, suffering coastal flooding and around 1,000 people lost their electricity supply.

Some parts of the country have seen heavy rain, but on higher ground it fell as snow.

The A9 – the main road between France and Spain – is closed due to the weather conditions.

In some of the more mountainous areas of France – including Corscia which has been blanketed in snow in the higher parts – school buses have stopped running.
