There were also women's demonstrations in Caen, northwestern France, and Montceau-les-Mines, central-eastern France. In the southwestern city of Toulouse, 300 women took to the streets shouting: “Macron your goose is cooked, the chicks are in the street.”

I haven’t been living in France very long so I can’t claim to fully understand all the issues. However it surprises me to see famous people blaming politicians use of private planes and chauffeurs for the high taxes in France. While certainly symbolic, surely the cost is trivial compared to the widespread mismanagement of public money in many government services. There is so much waste that could be avoided without decreasing the quality of service. I see it often in everyday life, for example in the public health system. So far I’ve heard no discussion about this in the media or from the French people. I’m not sure why.
