Bernard Forbes, 75, was last seen on Tuesday 24th of January, his family says.

He is around 180 centimetres tall (five foot nine) and has short white hair and beard.

He was last seen in his car, a medium grey Honda CRV 2.2 with a spare tyre on the back, leaving his home in Saint-Geniès, in the Dordogne region of south western France.

His wife said that he took no change of clothes with him and only a small amount of money.

"He is undergoing treatment for cancer and has been a bit low recently but I am very worried as he has suffered with depression in the past," his wife Guelda told The Local.

He was last seen wearing a light grey jacket, and his family says that he always wears his glasses.

Anyone with information has been urged to contact their local police station, or the family of Forbes on 05 53 29 68 84.

The family has been dealing with the local Salignac and Sarlat police.
