Talk about a lucky escape.
A pilot in found himself in difficulty in the skies of southern France on Tuesday morning and decided there was no other option but to make an emergency landing.
The pilot, carrying two passengers, landed his small aircraft on the A8 motorway near Brignoles in the Var department.
The pilot managed to bring the plane down on the emergency lane of the highway, somehow avoiding contact with the other cars nearby.
Emergency workers in a helicopter were quick to track down the plane and help remove it from the road.
The local police tweeted that the pilot and his passengers walked away "in good health".
