French champions Paris Saint-German will play English club Manchester City in the last eight of the Champions League after the draw was made on Friday.

PSG will be mightily relieved to have avoided Barcelona who have knocked them out of the competition in the quarter finals twice in recent years.

They will also be content to have avoided Spanish giants Real Madrid and German champions Bayern Munich.

Champions League quarter-final draw.

Wolfsburg (Germany) v Real Madrid (Spain)

Bayern Munich (Germany) v Benfica (Portugal)

Barcelona (Spain) v Atletico Madrid (Spain)

Paris St-Germain (France) v Manchester City (England)

The quarter-finals will take place on 5-6 April and 12-13 April.

PSG, with the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Angel Di Maria firing on all cylinders will fancy their chances against a Manchester City side struggling for form.

Having been knocked out at the quarter final stage over the past three seasons the pressure will be on Laurent Blanc's PSG team to go one step further.

At stake is a place in the semi finals of the Champions League, something the Qatari owned PSG have never achieved. After having plowed millions into the club the owners want to see some kind of reward for their investment.

Standing in their way is a team, that's also been bankrolled with oil money, this time by Sheikh Mansour from Abu Dhabi.

Unlike PSG, Manchester CIty have struggled this year although they easily made it past Dynamo Kiev in the last round. City have never been as far in this competition and won't want their adventure to end in Paris, especially given it's manager Manuel Pellegrini's last year in charge.

With the likes of Sergio Aguero and David Silva, they will be confident of giving PSG a run for all their money.
