VIDEO: It's icy cold in Paris as waters of canal (almost) freeze over
Paris has been freezing for a few days and the waters of the canal started to freeze over on Thursday. Although the ice is not ready to skate on just yet as Oliver Gee finds out.
The man-made Bassin de la Villette, which links Paris's canals in the 19th arrondissement, would make for the perfect ice rink if ever it was cold enough to freeze over.
On Thursday, after three days of sub-zero temperatures, it looked like Parisians could dust off their ice skates as the waters of the Bassin started to freeze over, right outside The Local's offices, .
Although we probably need the cold snap to continue for a few days more before it becomes safe enough to venture out onto the ice as Oliver Gee found it.
