A video of a muscle-bound homeless Frenchman using the streets of Paris as his own personal gym has turned him into an overnight internet sensation.

Fifty-year-old Jacques Sayagh has come up with several ingenious ways to maintain his bodybuilder physique.

With his exercises ranging from pull-ups using belts hanging from lampposts to push-ups on the pavement, the 50-year-old grandfather shows the street is just as good as a gym for a full workout routine.

Now the bodybuilder has become the subject of a video documentary by French director Julien Goudichaud.

Speaking about his passion for the sport in the video, Sayagh says: “Bodybuilders are futurists, they dare everything. It’s a world that I like.”

He also said that if he did not practice the sport then he would probably be dead.

“I have grandchildren,” he says. “I don’t want them to think that their grandfather is an asshole, I want them to be proud of me. That’s all I want.”

Uploaded onto YouTube last week, the six-minute video has already clocked up over 800,000 views.
