Bastille Day fireworks mark WW1 centenary

Paris put on a spectacular fireworks display on Monday night as part of the annual July 14th, Bastille Day celebrations. The 35-minute pyrotechnics display was designed to mark the centenary of World War One. See some of the impressive images and videos here.

The annual Bastille Day celebrations were brought to a spectacular close on Monday night with the annual fireworks display at the Eiffel Tower.

For the first time since 2002 fireworks were launched from the Eiffel Tower itself in a show that was specially designed to mark the centenary of World War One.

The display took six months to design, and cost half a million euros, but it was certainly impressive.
