British photographer Martin Parr was tasked with capturing the City of Light on camera and the results of two years of his work travelling around the the capital have recently gone on display at the Maison Européenne de la Photographie in Paris.

Here's a glimpse of some of the images he took while trying to capture real Paris "life, from the hordes of tourists who descend on the city to the chic Parisian woman, laden with designer gear, that "highlights the vulnerability of us all".

In his two years travelling across the city, Parr took in the famous Paris Plage (Paris beach) in the summer, the agriculture fair, July 14th celebrations and a tourist-packed Champs Elysées. The exhibition, simply named "Paris" at the MEP (5/7 rue de Fourcy) runs until May 25th.
