France's medal sweep in the Olympic Games men's freestyle ski cross competition was placed under investigation on Saturday after rival teams accused them of bending the rules.

Jean-Frederic Chapuis, Arnaud Bovolenta and Jonathan Midol took all three medals after a helter-skelter tournament at Extreme Park.

But Canada and Slovenia both lodged complaints to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) after their original protests were deemed to be too late by the International Skiing Federation (FIS) competition jury.

"They allege that, just before the Big Final, French support staff changed the shaping of the lower leg suits of the riders, creating an aerodynamic effect that the appellants submit is contrary to the International Freestyle Skiing Competition Rules," said a CAS statement.

A ruling on the case is expected to be revealed on Sunday, the final day of the Games.
