The annual Valentine's Day pilgrimage to Paris of lovers from across the world will take place once again on February 14th this year.

With more than 6,200 restaurants to choose from among Paris’s 20 arrondissements, many of them excellent, the job of picking a restaurant for Valentine's Day can overwhelm even the most passionate of souls.

It can require hours of guide book research and then a considerable “research fund” to try out the promising places.

Fortunately your friends at The Local are here to help. We have at least narrowed down your options to ten possibilities, that we believe score high on the romance scales.

We have tried to include everything from the antique-look with worn red banquettes to a few with views over sparkling Parisian monuments.

But mostly we have served up a choice to show off the cozy charm of Paris that never stops pulling in lovers from around the world.

So here's our top ten romantic Paris restaurants.

And by the way, we’d love to hear how things go, so drop us an email to news@thelocal.fr and let us know. And feel free to suggest your own romantic Parisian restaurants. We will put together a readers' Top 10.

And if you still haven't found a date for Valentine's Day then check out The Local's new dating service for expats in France by clicking here.
