Every year thousands of foreigners living in France decide, for a variety of reasons, to become français. While many do it for the obvious work benefits, others have slightly more peculiar reasons for gaining French nationality. Here are ten reasons why you should consider becoming French.

If asked whether you would ever consider becoming French, most Anglos, especially those from Britain and Ireland would probably respond "why would I want to do something like that?"

But whether it's for work reasons or for travel or simply to feel more at one with your new French friends, becoming a citizen of La France has numerous and varied advantages, including allowing you to go for the top job in the country.
