Two French citizens killed in Nairobi attack
Two French citizens were among the 39 people killed in Saturday's "terrorist" attack on a Nairobi shopping mall, the Élysée Palace said in a statement.
President Francois Hollande "condemns the cowardly attack in the strongest terms and shares the pain of the family of our compatriots," said the statement.
"Two French citizens have been killed in this vile act which has left numerous victims."
Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta said 69 people had been killed and 150 injured in the attack which has been claimed by Somalia's Al-Qaeda-linked Shebab militants.
Twelve hours after masked gunmen besieged the upmarket shopping centre, security forces were still in the process of trying to secure the mall and neutralise the attackers, according to the president.
