Climbing the Eiffel Tower is a rite-of-passage for any visitor to Paris. But if you can't afford the air fare or hate waiting in line, Google's new interactive virtual tour (see below) is on hand to bring the breathtaking 360° views to you.

The Eiffel Tower is France's most visited tourist attraction, and for good reason. The history, design, and especially the panoramic views it offers of the City of Light, attract millions of tourists to Iron Lady every year.

Not everyone, however, is in a position to jet off to Paris, and practically no one enjoys the queues to get into the tower, which during summer months can take hours.

But whether your fear of heights has deprived you of one of the world’s most iconic views, or you’re simply daydreaming in an office thousands of miles from Paris, a new innovation from Google Earth allows you to see all there is to see from the Iron Lady, (like the view below) without leaving your seat.

So if you'd like to take a trip up to the top of the Iron Lady today but can't make it to Paris The Local is on hand to make it possible (see below).

Enjoy the views.
