Actor Depardieu loses his wheels in Paris

It looks like thieves in Paris have done actor Gerard Depardieu a favour to keep the now infamous Frenchman out of trouble with the law. The actor has apparently had his scooter stolen. It's the same vehicle he fell off when caught drink driving last year.
The French icon has been accused of ‘losing it’ in recent times – dancing with Chechen strongman Ramzan Kadyrov, palling around with Russian president Vladimir Putin, and sending poetry to the Russian media to express his love for their country.
However, it seems the star of Cyrano de Bergerac and Green Card has now lost something quite important – the infamous scooter he drove through Paris in November, while more than three times over the alcohol limit, before falling off and being arrested.
Depardieu himself called police in Paris’ 7th arrondissement to inform them his scooter had been stolen, a police source told France Bleu radio station on Tuesday.
The source revealed that Depardieu had parked his two-wheeler on Rue de Lille, close to the Musée d’Orsay.
Following the drink-driving incident the 64-year-old Russian passport-holder admitted the charges laid against him. But he caused yet more controversy in January by failing to show up at a sentencing hearing in Paris.
Now facing a criminal court hearing in the next few weeks, and a possible jail term of up to two years, Depardieu will have to make sure his diary and watch aren’t stolen in the meantime.
