The weather may be telling a winter's tale, but Thursday marks the beginning of spring, officially anyway – which means it’s time to re-examine your wardrobe.

Is it in desperate need of updating? Well, even if your pockets aren’t lined with gold, there’s no need to despair. For one thing, pockets aren’t that ‘in’ at the moment anyway. Plus, some of the hottest new trends involve vintage clothing and trinkets, borrowing details from bygone eras –and even a little cross-dressing.

With the help of Paris-based designer and fashion guru Olivia Monaghan, The Local has compiled a list of the top ten Paris street fashions for the coming season.

Monaghan's fashion tips, which range from adding dollops of colour to spice up Paris' traditionally grey garb and baring a little - but not too much - flesh, will help you both to fit in and stand out in the street.
