Air France flights delayed by Sandy

Air France flights scheduled to fly to or from the northeastern United States on Tuesday may be cancelled or delayed due to Hurricane Sandy, the French airline said.

The airline said in its statement on Monday that the announcement concerned flights departing from or arriving at Dulles airport in Washington, New York's Kennedy airport and Boston's Logan airport.

More than 12,000 other flights from various airlines have been grounded since Sunday, with the number expected to grow as the slow-moving "Frankenstorm" batters the eastern US.

Tens of thousands of people were stranded, as the mega storm's impact on air travel was felt as far afield as Asia and Europe.
