Drag queen convicted of tasering his mother

A female impersonator from Bayonne, south-western France, has been given a six month suspended prison sentence for tasering his mother.

The man, named only as Pierre, was arrested after his mother went to the police accusing him of stunning her with a taser gun in the neck and thigh.

His mother was sent immediately to hospital after the incident and was unable to work for two days.

Pierre suffered from psychiatric problems and had been violent towards his mother in the past, according to local paper Sud Ouest. He denied the charges of tasering her.

The man also known in the region for his stage act, where he dresses in Lolita clothing - a Japanese fashion based on Victorian-era styles - and calls himself Laurine.
