Marks & Spencer aiming for five Paris shops
British food and fashion store Marks & Spencer, which shut its French branches a decade ago, said on Wednesday it will have a shop open on the Champs-Elysees before Christmas and plans four other
Paris shops.
The company declined to set a date for the opening of its prime Paris location, but invited journalists for a look on November 23rd, feeding speculation it will be open for a full month of holiday shopping.
M&S International Director Jan Heere said the Champs-Elysees shop at 500 square metres would offer only a selection of women's fashion, lingerie and food.
However the other four other much larger shops would carry M&S's full assortment of products, he added.
M&S announced its return to France in April and launched a French internet store in October.
