How should France act to protect its language from an invasion of Franglais? Is creating new words to rival English ones the best way to go about it? Following on from The Local's Tête-a-tête debate on Franglais, we asked the views of French people in the street.

"We come from Belgium so are used to living in a country with two languages. I am all for protecting French. You have to love your language and I think everyone is capable of speaking one or two languages," said Robert Havelange from Brussels pictured with his wife Amira.
