France set for celebrity couples wedding clash

The paparazzi will have their work cut out on May 24th this year with two of the world’s most famous celeb couples set to get married in different parts of France.

The magazine US weekly revealed this week that rapper Kanye West and reality TV star Kim Kardashian are to say “Oui” in Paris on Saturday May 24th.

There had been speculation the couple, who have been engaged for five months, were to marry in Paris after they were seen visiting the Palais de Versailles earlier this year. Although it is not believed Kardashian will walk down the aisle in the historic palace.

The pair were also in the French capital in recent days for Paris Fashion Week and it is believed they own an apartment off the picturesque Place Vendôme, one of the richest areas of the City of Light.

Le Parisien newspaper says May 24th was chosen as it coincides with the last day of the Cannes Film Festival, which will allow their guests, most of whom will probably be celebrities themselves, to make an easy journey up from the south.

But West and Kardashian won’t be the only American celeb couple getting married on that day in France, as it has been reported long-term Francophiles Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie plan to wed on the same day in the south of France. The couple are the proud owners of the €50 million Chatêau Miraval in the Var department of Provence.

France has proved a popular place for celeb couples to get hitched over the years. Hollywood actress Halle Berry married Frenchman Olivier Martinez here and British actress Keira Knightley tied the knot with rocker James Righton on French soil.
