The rare, if not never-seen-before footage of the famous Mer de Glace (Sea of Ice) glacier in the Haute-Savoie area of the Alps was captured thanks to what appears to be a miniature camera attached to the eagle’s back.
In the clip, which is entitled 'Flying eagle point of view', the eagle swoops over stunning ice-lined valley and the snow capped mountains, which rise steeply either side.
Since the video appeared on YouTube on Monday, viewing figures have skyrocketed.
On Wednesday afternoon, the clip already had over 100,000 views.
For now, the author of the video remains unknown, but until then we can only watch and admire. Take a look at the video yourself and let us know what you think.
