A 66-year-old grandmother was found dead in her car in St Quentin, near Amiens, after being shot 13 times while waiting for her granddaughter outside a pizza restaurant on Sunday afternoon.

She was reportedly shot by two people, who then fled the scene in a stolen car. The motive for the shooting is not yet clear.

Local paper L’Aisne Nouvelle reported the grandmother went to pick up some pizzas with her granddaughter, who was in the restaurant when two people opened fire.

When the police arrived at the scene of the crime, a white tarpaulin was found draped over the driver’s side of the car.

“We’re not used to this kind of thing in St Quentin”, said deputy mayor Freddy Grzeziczak. “It’s a very calm, residential area near the town centre.”
